FESPA GLOBAL PRINT EXPO 2018. TRENDS. INVESTMENTS.

EUROPE’S LARGEST PRINT EXPO IN 2018 FOR SCREEN AND DIGITAL WIDE FORMAT PRINT, TEXTILE PRINTING AND SIGNAGE, FESPA GLOBAL PRINT EXPO TOOK PLACE IN MESSE BERLIN FROM 15-18 MAY.

 
The show was held in ten two-story pavilions at 700 booths
There were visitors from142 countries
Here is FESPA this year content:
- European Sign Expo
- the FESPA Trend Theatre
- Printeriors showcase
- Print Make Wear garment production feature
- Digital Corrugated Experience for packaging and point-of-sale (it was for the first time)

The dominant area of visitor interest according to the event registration data was digital printing - 44% of all visitors.
30 % visitors were interested in textile and fabric printing. Commercial print, finishing, design to print, sublimation printing and industrial printing also featured particularly strongly among visitors’ priorities for the event.

FESPA in partnership with InfoTrends made and analysed questionnaires of 1400 selected visitors

The main trends are:
Optimism
83% of respondents state that they are optimistic for the future of their business (2015: 80%).
Customer demands
Individual and personalize printing.
Wide format product mix
Further growing potential for banners; signs, billboards, POS/POP displays, digitally printable self-adhesive media and décor applications.
Digital technology investment
Print businesses continue to invest into short runs digital technology.
UV, latex and direct and dye sublimation growing
declining use of solvent, water inks and analogue technologies.
Productivity is the dominant buying criteria.
Textile
Garment products dominate across all textile businesses, where sports apparel, fast fashion are leading. Digital textile printing is slower than in other segments but 56% recipients have made digital investments, and 19% plan to do so in the next two years.
Digital printing will expand to 12% of the textile printing production, today is about 5%.
Environmental demands
Environmental investments are influenced by customer expectations regarding manufacturing and materials. 76% say that environmentally responsible products are shaping business strategy, including topic of energy-efficiency.
